McLaine Beeman, MT-BC, MMFT
McLaine believes all of us make sense in the context of our story. As a trauma therapist for couples and individuals, her goal is to create a haven where you can connect the dots of your storied constellation, the starry map of the noble idea that is you. She hold deeply the truth that we heal in relationship with safe others. McLaine creates safety for couples hoping to understand their relationship so they can find their way back to each other, as well as for individuals looking to find a home within themselves.
With both couples and individuals she emphasizes the importance of attachment—our way of being with others- is vital to our healing. McLaine meets her clients with trust, empathy, and whole-hearted integrity, with a foundational belief that people are born good; that she who is willing to change can do so. Her approach to therapy is client-centered, dignity-focused, and connection-building. McLaine honors old defenses, challenges clients where necessary, and brings humor along for the ride together.
Prior to counseling McLaine worked as a music therapist in the hospital setting. There, she facilitated healing at birth, death, and everything in between.

About Your Practice
I began my work as a music therapist primarily in the hospital setting, and fell in love with a part of our world where ambiguity and existential questions are the norm. My work allowed me to meet people where they were, bring creativity and expression in the room, and sit with folks in some of their darkest hours. I pursued counseling to be able to deepen my knowledge and ability to bear witness to people wrestling with big questions outside the hospital room.

How does your faith play itself out in your work?
My faith plays itself out in my belief that people are born good, and that we are each uniquely and wonderfully designed. I create a safe place to land in my work that enables my clients to define and explore their own faith story, whatever that means to them.
