Ingrid Ransom, Nashvillle, TN, Brentwood, TN, Murfreesboro, TN

, , , ,

With an approach to counseling that is highly relational, Ingrid believes that we find the most healing through healthy and nurturing relationships with others and ourselves. In building a therapeutic relationship with her clients, Ingrid comes from & utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, & attachment theory perspective.

Ingrid has called Nashville home since 2005 when she moved to study music business at Belmont University. However, while at Belmont she found herself drawn to social work and counseling after many mission trips spent working with orphans and survivors of human trafficking. After earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee & before joining Sage Hill, Ingrid worked in Williamson and Davidson County schools as a mental health counselor helping children, adolescents, and their caregivers with issues including depression, self-harm, grief, emotional regulation, attachment, and PTSD.

Ingrid enjoys spending time with her family and dog, being outside in nature, and going to concerts.

About Your Practice
How did you get into this profession?
It all started with a short term mission trip working with orphans in Eastern Europe when I was 19, which led me to working with survivors of trafficking and girls who aged out of the orphanage for a summer after graduating college, which cemented me calling to social work.

Who has influenced your work?
Karen Purvis, Bruce Perry, Dan Segal, Pia Melody, Brene Brown, Al-Anon and ACA.

How does your faith play itself out in your work?
I believe each person is made in the image of God and is considered a child of God, adopted into God’s family. This informs how I approach self-esteem, attachment theory, and inner child work as this is the foundation of our identity.
