Dustin Conway, Graduate Student
Dustin is passionate about helping individuals find meaning in their experiences and understanding how it affects their story. He has seen a profound change in his own time in counseling and is eager to help others in the same process. He utilizes a strength-based approach and believes everyone possesses within them the resources needed for change by providing a safe, exploratory space. His approach to counseling is existential and psychodynamic, and he considers the counseling relationship is the most prominent tool in facilitating positive change.
Dustin attended Belmont University and received a BFA in Design Communication with a minor in Photography. After graduating, he worked in sales for several technology companies before deciding to return to school to pursue a career in counseling. He attends the Townsend Institute of Concordia University Irvine, where he is pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Dustin was born in Nashville, TN but spent most of his childhood in Memphis, TN. He met his wife in college, and the two were married after graduation. His favorite activities are going on long walks, watching his favorite comedians, and taking weekend getaways.

About Your Practice
The first time I thought about pursuing a career in counseling was while I was in college and a client of Sage Hill. I began to notice the impact counseling had on my life and thought that giving this to others would be incredibly meaningful. Through several years of trying other pursuits, it became clear that my desire to become a counselor was not going away. I finally decided to pursue this career and have not looked back since.
Who has influenced your work?
The works of Dr. John Townsend, Dr. Henry Cloud, and Viktor Frankl.
How does your faith play itself out in your work?
I am guided and directed by my personal relationship with God in how I live and make sense of the world. My faith allows me to have hope for others and believe that every person deserves respect, dignity, and grace. When working with others, I meet individuals on their spiritual journey and honor their experiences with faith.
